how do i know if a pill is time release?
so i took this herbal tablet called valerian forte and the pharmacist said it was ok for me to chew but it will taste bad. I chewed it but i have gas now and a small stomach ache, will i be ok? its a herbal tablet and he said it would be ok to chew. Its for helping me sleep and relax but will i be ok? im scared im 16 it doesnt say u cant chew it on the bottle
It didn’t say anything on the bottle about time release or not to crush it
You have a question that doesn’t go with your details. To know if a medication is time release, it will say if it is and it will also state somewhere in the directions to not chew it or crush it. If your pharmacist said you could chew the valerian, then I am sure that you could. Just because you can chew something, does not mean that you won’t have side effects. Different medication affects people in different ways. Apparently this causes you to have an upset stomach. I know another side effect of valerian is that it can give you really bad breath. You could try certain herbal teas with honey to sleep. Or take some benadryl, it is safe and works.
